The night before I had spent the night in Mammoth lakes, trying to sleep in 20 degree weather. The next day I headed down to Death valley and hiked in 100 degrees, quite a contrast and love the heat. I took this about 5 minutes after the sun had dipped below the mountains. I took 9 vertical shots and stiched them together. I manually blended for earth and sky.
