This photo was taken at Lynde Shore in Whitby, Ontario Canada. Lynde Shore is a conservation area that contains a large number of birds on land and in the water. Despite the cold weather this mallard was swimming swiftly through the pond. Fortunately it stopped just long enough to capture this photo of it spreading its wings.
