La Grande Hermine II
By Kevin Pashuk
This burned out shell is all that is left of a replica of La Grande Hermine, a replica of the ship Jacques Cartier sailed when he discovered the St. Lawrence river in 1535. Bought by an entrepreneur, and moored on Lake Ontario, it succumbed to arson in 2002. It is visible from the major highway to Niagara Falls, but you need to pull off to get this perspective.
