I took this photo during my first day in Hanoi while I was wondering the streets of the city's Old Quarter. This woman was wearing the customary conical hat and carrying fruits to a vender. I used my trusty full-frame Nikon, a position now filled by the D800, and Nikon's new 50mm f/1.8G to capture this photo. Three women behind the subject were cooking lunch on a traditional Vietnamese stove, the smoke from which provides a background that truly emphasizes the subject.
