It's no wonder they call Death Valley National Park the land of extremes. The afternoon I had arrived into the valley, one of my first destinations was Badwater Basin's Salt Flats. I arrived in 90 degree heat, with a bright and beating sun. As unbelievable as it is, just a few miles into the distance, It was snowing in the mountains. In the desert, mind you. I could not believe was was happening before me.
