I traveled from Salt Lake City to Colfax, WA to photograph the Palouse area of NE Washington and NW Idaho. This is a unique area comprised of huge, uninterrupted crop fields in a landscape of rolling hills The newly planted green fields make Spring the best season for a trip to this beautiful area. This image was taken from Steptoe Butte, the highest point within the Palouse. The deep shadows from the early morning light really made the scene "light up"!
