Chiaroscuro Distribution

While others were photographing hundreds of cranes taking flight during sunrise at the Bosque de Apache Wildlife Refuge, my eyes kept being drawn to the strange and seemingly random shadows and light refractions. The more I looked, the more patterns seemed to emerge. The reflection of the trees and reeds were a surprise, which is a key element to what my eye wants to capture in photography.
