Contest: Reflections through Photos

Back to Reality

By Christopher Morgan MD
I took this shot on a very frigid morning in Echo Canyon at Zion National Park in 2012. In order to add a little more depth and character to the shot, I shattered the thin sheet of ice with my shoe. My intention was to juxtapose the relatively smooth texture of the stones with the jagged, reflective, glass-like appearance of the ice.
