Once an important mode of transport in this nation's history, the C&O Canal is now mostly known for its recreational uses. Lying parallel to the Potomac River, the C&O Canal at Williamsport, Maryland is a favorite place for me to visit, take photos, contemplate life and nature's beauty. I like to imagine what it must have been like many years ago and what people from then would think about how we live and travel now.
