I was at a conference in Aspen and excited for the break in the schedule to go hiking near the Maroon Bells, only to find the weather uncooperative and heavily overcast. I missed the chance to get shots of the bright blue sky as a backdrop for the beautiful snow capped mountains, but I realized that this weather was well suited for black and white. I really like how the storm clouds in “Mountain Storm” appear to be embracing the mountains; something that is lost in its original color version.
