I took a 5-day solo backpack trip in Grand Canyon in February after retiring after 29 years as an officer in the US Public Health Service. After 37 years of in the Canyon, trying to make a great shot, I was blessed with great light and good fortune. Because of the immensity, the Grand Canyon is as challenging of a subject to photograph as exists in the natural world.
