October Photo Challenge: Low-Light Photography

Delicate Balance

By Michael Connell
The premise behind this image was to come up with a dramatic shot in a mundane location (a parking lot in this case) using minimal gear. The lights in the parking lot formed pools of light on the pavement. I tried to keep that look by using Rogue Flashbenders on my flashes to shape the light. I also used a vignette in post production to help shape the light into a spotlight shape. The image was converted to black and white in Adobe Lightroom.
