October Photo Challenge: Low-Light Photography

Glowing Rock Crevices

By Sabrina Valdez
I wanted to show the depth of a particular rock formation and what better way to show this than photographing at night. This image was composed of multiple images. I ran up and down this rock while flashing light into rock crevices with different colored gels while my camera was exposed for 10-15 seconds. I made a final image for the rock itself, which was 59 seconds. Later, I composed all the images into one single picture. Oh, and one other thing, I used a remote control.
