Harvest Season
By Kathryn Cooper
I know the contest is about real falling precipitation, but this is the first photo I thought of when I saw that! It was wheat harvest season in Nepal, and this farmer was winnowing--separating the threshed wheat from the chaff--resulting in the lighter chaff blowing in the wind. I used a fast shutter speed to catch these little pieces of golden rain.
