My first Popular Photography magazine caught my attention with its inclusion of Acadia National Park as one of America's top 15 parks to shoot, and cajoled me into taking my camera at the last minute. I'm not usually a morning person, but on my last day I summoned up the enthusiasm to walk to the beach to get a sunrise shot, yet, sadly, the sun was blocked by an island. However, I experimented with long exposure shots away from the sun, eventually giving me a result with which I was satisfied.
