Pink Rose
By Tim Barto
I took this at The Queen's Rose Garden of North Carolina's Elizabethan Gardens. Shooting in bright sunlight, my original shot of this rose was exposed and way too saturated. So in post I brought down exposure and saturation, and increased contrast of the entire image. As the redish bricks detracted from the rose, I created a mask and completely removed all color from the bricks by reducing saturation to 0. The final step was a bit of dodging to create a vignette.
