Inside the Balloon
By Tom Vogt
I was part of the ground crew helping to launch a friend's hot air balloon. As the envelope began to fill, the pilot went inside to check the top release ring and asked if I wanted to follow him. I grabbed my camera and snapped five or six frames as we were engulfed in red light. It felt a little like being in the belly of the beast.
