Minehunting

By Chris Treacy
US Navy MH-53E "Sea Dragon" catches sunlight through salt spray while conducting Minehunting operations in joint exercise "Trident Fury" in May 2011. These operations involve dangerous flying over fridgid waters. Pilots and aircrew wear dry suits while maneuvering the helicopter low over the water while deploying high tech sonar equipment. This enormous helicopter is stationed with HM-14 in Norfolk, Virginia.
