Hurricane Sandy

Photographing extreme weather has become a genre in and of itself, but while those shots come from the ground-level, some of the most striking images can come from space. The NASA Goddard Space Flight center has released a Blue Marble-like image that shows the massive size of hurricane Sandy, which is currently hitting the East Coast. It’s a part of their rather fascinating GOES project.

While the image is beautiful, it’s also a good reminder of just how intense this storm really is. We wish everyone stays safe out there.
