New Gear: Leica V-Lux 2

The V-Lux 2 features a 14MP CMOS sensor, 3” LCD screen, an 11 fps burst at full resolution, 1080i HD video, and a 25-600mm f/2.8-5.2 35mm equivalent lens—all of which are identical to the Panasonic FZ100.

FROM OUR EDITORS AT PHOTOKINA: Leica’s all-new V-Lux 2 is to the Panasonic FZ100 what the Leica D-Lux 5 is to the Panasonic LX5—essentially the same camera (other than that infamous red Leica badge).  So when Leica announced its brand new V-Lux 2, its specs came as no surprise. This is not to say that they are not very impressive.

Available in October for $849.00, the Leica V-Lux 2 also comes with a comprehensive software package including a copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements as well as Adobe Premiere Elements for video processing.
