If you're the next, great photographer, here's your chance to be discovered.

Each year, American Photo conducts a worldwide search to find the best emerging photographic talent. That's the goal of our EMERGING PHOTOGRAPHERS project. Finding up-and-coming photographers whose work is redefining the art. And getting them the exposure their work deserves.

We're interested in identifying the most talented new photographers in every discipline - from photojournalism to fine art, commercial to nature photography - and we're already scouring websites and seeking nominations from experts throughout the photographic world to find them.

But this year, we want to make our talent hunt the biggest ever. We want to see as much work from as many photographers as possible. Especially yours. If you think you're one of the next, great photographers, we encourage you to submit your own work for evaluation. To do so, simply use Aperture 2 and the free plug-in available below. We ask that you limit your submission to no more than ten images. To qualify, you must make your submissions by August 22, 2008.

Once we've evaluated all the submissions and nominations, we'll feature the work of the 12 finalists in our November/December 2008 issue, and you'll see other top candidates featured throughout the year on our website, www.popphoto.com. In addition, we'll showcase the work of one photographer in a special advertorial in the November/December issue, flying that talented individual to New York City for a special private American PHOTO event in December.
