User Review: Canon PowerShot SD900 Digital Elph

Andrew from North Platte, NE writes:

This camera's performance is amazing. Small size, but great zoom with the 12x capability. The viewing screen is huge. Flash, macro, widescreen, timer function all avaible super easy. Advertised as a shooting camera, but without many functions it still has enough to keep you entertained. The color accent funcntion is very cool, allowing you to choose one color/shade from whatever you are shooting and keep it, while turning everything else black and white. Great camera for those who don't or can't handle all the extra features and trying to explore through menus for simple things, while still giving awesome performance. With its digic III processer start up time and continuous shooting speed are great too. $350? You can't go wrong.

Digital cameras that produce images with corners darker than the center are said to vignette. You can test a digital camera for this defect as follows. Shoot an image of the open sky. Open the image in Photoshop and click Image > Adjustments > Threshold. The image will change to black and white and if the corners are black, the camera vignettes.

Announcing the "I'm a Better Graphic Designer Than Debbie Contest."

A few posts ago, I wrote about how to get "better-looking text" using Layer Styles. But according to a lot of the comments, I actually made the text look worse!

In honor of the fact that I'm a much better Photoshopper than I am a graphic designer, I hereby announce the Dear Debbie Blog's first contest: The "I'm a Better Graphic Designer Than Debbie Contest."
