Photographer, author, inventor, physician.  While a new talent among professional photographers, Mark's photographic experience spans over 35 years.

In 2004 he became a contributing photographer for Nikon, was featured in Nikon World Magazine, and regularly shoots for Nikon advertising.  In 2005 his work was among those selected from worldwide entries in the 2nd annual competition by Smithsonian Magazine.  His medical images were awarded 2nd place in the 2005 International Photography Awards competition.  His placements are as diverse as commercial ads, magazine covers, textbooks, action sports publications, and corporate installations.  He is sponsored by Lowepro, and is among the world class photographers chosen to appear in their 2006 & 2007 corporate calendars.  An international public speaker for clients including Hewlett-Packard and X-rite, his inspirational presentations touch audiences worldwide. Whether hanging backwards out of a race car at speed, hovering inches from a surgical field in the operating room, or chest deep in water chasing a windsurfer, he finds unique combinations of subject and light. Mark also teaches photography and digital technique, working with American PHOTO magazine as a Nikon Mentor in the trek destination series.  If all this sounds like something you'd read in a "how to" book, you'd be right.  Author Tony Luna was so impressed by Mark's passion and evolving photo career that Mark is subject matter in his recently published book on re-inventing yourself in the arts.
