The Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens features Nikon's Vibration Reduction (VR) optical image stabilization technology. The compact 3x zoom is designed for use with Nikon's DX-format digital SLRs and is included in several camera kits. In addition to providing image stabilization, the lens uses hybrid aspherical elements to minimize chromatic aberration, Nikon's Super Integrated Coating for reducing lens flare and ghosting, and a Silent Wave Motor (SWM) for quick and quiet autofocus. The 9.3 oz. lens has a close focus distance of 0.9 ft. at all focal lengths. The AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR will be available in December 2007 with a MSRP of $199.
