If a camera with a wacky-colored body isn't quite unique enough, check out Pentax's latest budget compact with customizable skins.
By now it should be obvious that Pentax love colorful camera bodies. The latest addition to their budget compact line-up uses interchangeable faceplates to let users customize the look of their camera. There are 10 pre-determined designs and a utility on Pentaximaging.com for creating your own plate from one of your photographs. The whole package is very similar to its predecessor, the RS1000.
The camera that fits underneath that faceplate is pretty much what you would expect at the $150 price point. A 14-megapixel sensor sits behind a 4x optical zoom lens (27.5-110mm equivalent). On the back is a 230,000 dot, 3-inch LCD display you can use to preview a whole gaggle of artistic filters. It can also shoot 720p HD video.
It will be available in April in pearl white and silver.
