Yesterday, at a bizarrely huge announcement, Samsung debuted the new Galaxy S4 smartphone. This is the newest flagship device from the giant South Korean gadget manufacturer, and while there are plenty of reasons why it's an important new smartphone, Samsung have also added a plethora of new photo and video features to the device.

This morning, HTC went official with their new flagship phone, the HTC One. It's an aluminum-bodied monster, with a 4.7-inch screen and scads of processing power. But, one of the biggest talking points of the presentation was about the camera and its pixels.

Just this morning, our friends at Gizmodo published a story about features they'd like to see in smartphone cameras in the coming year. There are some useful suggestions, but RAW capture sounds a lot better on paper than it does in practice.

Confirming yesterday's reports, Twitter has indeed launched an update with image filters. Available now for Android and landing soon on iOS, the updated app packs eight different image filters, as well as extremely basic editing functionality.
