In a world where every photographer has to worry about their images being used without credit, perhaps the most egregious offense is when one photographer passes off someone else's work as their own. The Tumblr blog Photo Stealers is devoted to calling out the websites that have claimed the work of others, and publicly shaming them into removing it. And wouldn't you know, it's actually working.

As a proprieter of a business, there are certain things you're not allowed to deny service based on — the protected classes of race, color, religion, origin, age, sex, family status, disability, veterans, and genetic information — and in some states, sexual orientation. Now a New Mexico wedding photography company has fallen afoul of anti-discrimination laws by refusing to shoot the ceremony of a same-sex couple.

How similar are the images above? Think they're close enough to be a copyright infringement? A UK judge believes so, and his ruling could have some major repercussions for photographers and advertisers. Of the two shots above, the one on the left was taken by Temple Island Collections, who sell tourist merchandise in London. The image is popular enough that they have an entire area of their online store devoted to it, and the photographer claims 80 hours of work went into taking and touching the image.
