Google has announced a plan to tweak the way it displays images in Google Image Search, giving metadata a much more prominent role. The updated interface should become available for most people in the very near future, and will show large versions of the image in the search itself, return results faster, allow you to flick through them with arrow keys, and perhaps most importantly for photographers, show metadata automatically beside the image.

We've been following Google's Project Glass for some time, and while it may be a while before you see them on the shelves of your local Best Buy, the company has put out a few hints for where the project is headed. The leader of the group working on Project Glass, Babak Parviz, has talked to IEEE Spectrum, and while remaining cagey on specific details, he has revealed some information.

As part of Kodak's bankruptcy filing earlier this year, the company put some 1,100 patents up for sale, attempting to raise money to deal with the more than $6 billion in liabilities with which it was saddled. Now it appears that the two biggest names in technology may have bonded together to pick up this incredible IP suite.

Architectural photographer Connie Zhou is used to big assignments in more ways than one. Her latest work has made her the first photographer officially allowed into Google's massive data centers.  The resulting images turn warehouses full of electronic equipment into beautiful graphic photographs.
