Leica's M9 is an amazing camera, capable of capturing photos that are scary sharp, but what happens when you take sharpness out of the picture almost entirely? grEGORy Simpson (weird capitalization is his) decided to find out by making himself some pinhole optics out of gaffer's tape and a "sharp object."

While digital lomo apps like Instagram are hugely popular, one thing they can never really capture is the inherently random outcome of the analog technology it's based on. Over at Unpluggd, Joel Pirela attempted to recapture those imperfections by creating his own digital lomo camera out of the internals of a crummy Vivitar compact and some old Olympus glass.

Bullet time is the effect achieved when a subject is surrounded (or at least partially surrounded) by cameras that are all fired at the same time. You might know it as the Matrix effect. Some creative surf videographers achieved a similar effect using a custom rig fitted with 30 GoPro helmet cameras. The results are, well, rad.

Because of their unique perspective, even relatively mundane aerial photographs tend to grab a viewer's interest. But, getting a camera up in the air isn't the easiest task, especially if you don't have your own helicopter or even a remote-controlled chopper. That's where kite photography comes in.
