Pentax has upgraded its K100D digital SLR with the new K100D Super. The compact 6.1 megapixel model comes at a very competitive price and improves on its predecessor with a built-in dust-removal system and full support for Pentax's newer SDM lenses. SDM optics use a supersonic motor for quieter and smoother autofocus.
Otherwise identical to the K100D, the new camera shares its predecessor's sensor-based optical image stabilization system, plentiful automatic and manual shooting modes, and broad compatibility with Pentax lenses.
The K100D Super will be available in August 2007 for $519.95 (body only) or $599.95 with an 18-55mm lens.
Pentax today also announced a new compact flash unit, the AF200FG.
