Leica has updated the firmware for its Digilux 3 digital SLR. According to the company, version 2.0 offers extensive performance improvements, adding a multiple exposure function and a new Mode 3 optical image stabilization feature. Mode 3 compensates for longitudinal camera movement to keep a subject sharp while capturing background motion blur when panning.

Other notable additions include improved low-angle viewing when the LCD is used as a live viewfinder, an Auto Review setting without a time limit, easier access to ISO settings in Auto Exposure mode, and other interface enhancements.

The new firmware is available for download from Leica's Web site, www.leica-camera.com.
