By removing the IR/UV cutoff filter in front of the camera's sensor, Fujifilm's new Finepix S3 Pro UVIR can detect a much broader range of illumination than most every other camera on the market, well into the infrared and ultraviolet spectrum.

Michael Brooks, a photographer and trainer who specializes in forensic photo techniques and whose clients include law enforcement and the military, was chosen by Fujifilm to be one of the first testers of the S3 Pro UVIR. PopPhoto.com recently caught up with him at the PhotoPlus Expo in New York City and asked him to explain the camera's crime-fighting abilities.
