DIGITAL SLRs
It has been a breakthrough year for digital SLRs—and not in terms of resolution, as most models still hover around six megapixels (give or take a million). With the introduction of the Canon Digital Rebel, followed by Nikon’s D70, D-SLRs can finally be had for under $1,000. It’s hard to believe that just a few years ago a six-megapixel model cost nearly $25,000. Now that a D-SLR costs less than a top-of-the-line 35mm SLR, it’s an option for anyone who’s serious about digital photography.
