Does the Epson R-D1 have street smarts? A street shooter's portfolio

In the March issue of Pop Photo we tested the Epson R-D1, the first digital rangefinder camera to accept Leica M-series lenses. To see if it really works like a Leica, in addition to running our lab tests, we put the camera in the hands of our resident street photographer, Mason Resnick, who spent a day shooting. His report about his experience using the camera on the streets of New York, along with one of the photos he got that day, accompany the test results.

Here are more street shots that Resnick got with the R-D1. All were shot at the ISO 800 setting, with a 28mm f/3.5 Voiglander Color-Skopar lens. The color images were desaturated later in Photoshop.
