The 8.1-megapixel Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S780 features a retractable f/2.8-4.8, 35-105mm (35mm equivalent) 3x zoom lens and a 153,000-pixel, 2.5-inch LCD. The camera offers a basic automatic feature set, with Auto and Program Auto modes, seven scene selections, and a High Sensitivity mode that goes up to ISO 1250. It is identical to the S750 except for its higher resolution. Other notable features include Sony's most basic face-detection technology, adjustable flash levels, slow sync flash, and spot metering. The Sony Cyber-shot S780 will be available in April 2008 with a MSRP of $179.
