Sanyo Xacti HD2

Sanyo Xacti HD2

TYPE: Digital Camcorder

The Sanyo Xacti HD2 is a pocket-size camcorder that uses a 7.38-megapixel CCD to capture JPEG photos as well as standard-definition and high-definition 720p MPEG-4 video. The 8.3-ounce digital camcorder features a 10x zoom lens, a 2.2-inch LCD, a pop-up flash, and a built-in neutral-density filter. It stores both photos and video on SD and high-capacity SDHC cards. Notable photo-related features include a continuous-shooting mode, simultaneous video and still capture, PictBridge support for direct printing, a self-timer, and redeye reduction. This Xacti is compatible with a 0.6x wide-angle adapter (VCP-L06WU) and a 1.4x telephoto adapter (VCP-L14TU), both available for about $100. The lens also takes a 49mm filter adapter (VCP-AL49), available for $18. The Xacti HD2 comes with a docking station and will hit store shelves in March 2007 at a retail price of $699.99.
