Samsung's 7.1-megapixel point-and-shoot features an f/3.5-5.3, 38mm-266mm (35mm equivalent) 7x zoom lens and a 2.5-inch LCD screen with a high 230,000-pixel resolution. It also offers 12 automatic shooting modes, spot and center-weighted metering, long exposures up to 15 seconds, a top light-sensitivity setting of ISO 1600, and provides a timelapse photography mode and autoexposure bracketing.

But the strongest features of the L77 are its video components. It records smooth VGA-resolution video in the efficient MPEG-4 format, with selectable sound recording. The optical zoom and digital image stabilization can be used during video capture, and recording can be paused and resumed within a continuous segment. The L77 also captures separate audio files and can attach voice memos to still shots.
