The 8.1-megapixel Pentax Optio E50 features an f/2.8-5.2, 37.5-112.5mm (35mm equivalent) 3x optical zoom lens and 110,000-dot, 2.4-inch LCD. The camera features face detection autoexposure and autofocus, redeye correction, an Auto Picture mode that evaluates scenes and automatically selects one of six shooting modes, a voice recording mode, and smooth VGA video recording with sound. It also incorporates Pentax's Green button for one-touch access to user-assigned functions. The camera offers a high-light-sensitivity setting of ISO 1600. The Pentax Optio E50, which runs on AA batteries, will be available in March 2008 with a MSRP of $150.
