Nikon D70

Nikon D70

Price (MSRP): $999.00
Megapixel: 6.1
TYPE: Digital SLR

The Nikon D70 was named Popular Photography and Imaging's Camera of the Year in 2004 for its balance of technical virtuosity and affordable price (dropping in at under $1,000, street, body only). The camera offers excellent color accuracy, nearly instantaneous startup time, a burst mode that gives you more than a dozen Fine-quality JPEGs at 3 frames per second, and a hefty, well-balanced feel due to its polycarbonate skin over a stainless-steel chassis. Featuring extensive but easily understood menus including handholding help menus, the D70 really does allow any photographer to move smoothly and painlessly into a digital SLR. Yet all of the Nikon lenses (including the new digital-only DX series), flashes, and accessories that work with the other members of the clan work on the D70.
