Kodak DCS Pro SLR/n

TYPE: Digital SLR

This full-frame digital SLR combines a Nikon-influenced body and control layout, Nikon lens compatibility, a Kodak sensor, and Kodak image processing technology. Made for professional use, it's a hefty camera with an integrated vertical grip, standard manual and automatic exposure modes, an advanced feature set, and no consumer-oriented programmed scene modes. However, it does take a page from the consumer SLR book by including a built-in flash in addition to a hotshoe and a PC-sync terminal. The SLR/n is compatible with Nikon's D-TTL flash system, as well as many Nikon accessories. It's also available with an optional PocketWizard radio transceiver installed for wireless strobe control. Among its notable features are a 1% spot meter, the ability to capture JPEGs and RAW files simultaneously at different resolutions, a timelapse mode, voice annotation, a High Performance Low Noise mode that captures long exposures with low noise at ISO 6, and support for Kodak's ERI-JPEG format, which provides more post-capture control over image parameters than standard JPEGs. The SLR/n also provides a serial port for connecting to a bar code scanner or a GPS device that will write location information into image headers. Kodak has discontinued this camera but still provides support for it.
