FujiFilm brings its face-finding technology and "Blog Mode" to the ultra-compact Fujifilm FinePix Z5fd, a 6.3 megapixel 3x (36-105mm equivalent) zoom ultra-compact digicam. Face detection technology, which Fujifilm claims will help make better snapshots of people, even in tough lighting, is a lot more interesting than the Blog mode, which simply copies and downsamples low-resolution image files for Web-posting, a la Casio's eBay mode. The Finepix Z5fd will be available in March 2007 with an estimated street price of $229.
