The first of Canon's ultracompact Digital Elph cameras to offer optical image stabilization, this pocket-size model provides a broad range of programmed automatic exposure modes and color settings. It uses Canon's DIGIC II processor to minimize shutter lag and shot-to-shot delays, and has a continuous-shooting speed rated by Canon at 2.1 fps. Among its other notable features are a spot meter, widescreen and 60fps video modes, and underwater settings for use with Canon's optional underwater housing. While it's designed mainly for automatic operation, you can select a slow shutter speed mode and a High ISO Auto mode that boosts shutter speeds along with the ISO.
