Canon's 7.1-megapixel PowerShot A560 is almost identical to the more expensive A570IS. The only difference is, as the name implies, that the A570IS has an optical image-stabilization system. Both cameras offer an f/2.6-5.5, 35mm-140mm (35mm equivalent) 4x zoom lens, an optical viewfinder and a 115,000-pixel, 2.5-inch LCD. Both cameras also use Canon's new DIGIC III image processor to enhance performance and image quality in both photo and video modes.
Both cameras feature a shutter-speed range of 1/2000 to 15 seconds, spot and center-weighted metering modes, and a drive mode that shoots at 1.7fps when a high-speed SD card is installed. They also capture smooth VGA-resolution video with sound and adjust exposure and white balance continuously during video capture to compensate for changing conditions, which is not a given in cameras that are not made primarily for video capture.
