Canon EOS 30D

Canon EOS 30D

Price (MSRP): $1,399.00
Megapixel: 8.25
TYPE: Digital SLR

Photos taken by this camera

A relatively minor upgrade to Canon's EOS 20D, this midrange SLR improves upon its predecessor with a spot meter, a greater drive mode burst capacity, a larger LCD, and more direct-printing capabilities, among other enhancements. With a durable, mid-sized body and a design very similar to that of the 20D, it's compatible with Canon's EF lenses, as well as digital-only EF-S optics. The 30D also supports Canon's EX-series Speedlites and meshes well with E-TTL II units. We expect it to have the same excellent image quality and high-ISO performance as the 20D, and Canon claims it's an even speedier shooter than its already quick predecessor. Compatible accessories include Canon's BG-E2 vertical grip, DVK-E2 data verification kit, and WFT-E1A wireless transmitter. The 30D doesn't capture TIFFs, but you can process its RAW images with the included Digital Photo Professional 2.1 software.
