Sigma 120-300 f2.8 EX APO DG IF HSM

Canon 1DMiiN with Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM. 1/1000 @ f/10 ISO 400 at 300mm -- Rule of thirds -- what's that? When I spied this biker racing up through the traffic from a ways back I realized he'd enter the light ahead of the traffic. Here's a case where stopping down for the telephoto compression effect works well. Subject/background separation is accomplished by capturing the main subject just as he enters the sunlit middleground. The hint of a taxi in the foreground adds a bit of tension, and the intense expression of the biker is what really makes this shot work.
