HP Photosmart A526 and A626 Portable PrintersHP has added two models to its line of Photosmart portable printers. The 2.6-pound A526 outputs 4x6 prints and the 3.2-pound A626 prints at sizes up to 5x7; both can also produce 4x12 panoramic prints. The new models use three-color Vivera dye-based ink cartridges. While the A526 provides a 2.4-inch LCD for viewing photos and menus that are navigated via control buttons, the A626 offers a huge 4.8-inch touchscreen display. In addition to providing a control interface, it allows users to write messages on photos before printing them. The two printers include memory card slots and PictBridge-compatible USB ports for receiving images directly from digital cameras. Camera phone photographers can send images to the printers via Bluetooth when an optional adapter is plugged into USB port. Both printers feature a built-in carrying handle and an integrated fold-up paper tray to enhance their portability. The A626 can run on an optional internal battery. The $99 A526 and $179 A626 will be available in September 2007.
