Canon EOS 1D Mark III

Canon EOS 1D Mark III with Sigma 300mm f/2.8 USM DG APO. 1/2000 @f/4 ISO 160. There's a bit of blown highlights on the bright chest ofthis herring gull captured without Highlight Tone Priority activated,but there's excellent shade and shadow detail with virtually no noise.Highlight Tone Priority, available from ISO 200-3200 may have savedthe hottest highlights, but has the potential to increase noise inshadow areas. With this image, it wasn't a tradeoff I wanted to make.
