Canon A650IS

While certainly not an original concept, this image shows just how powerful manual controls can be. We chose to expose for the detail in the Colosseum and let the sky go clipped for the effect we wanted in this scene with an extreme range of EVs. With a shutter speed of 0.8 seconds, objects in motion are blurred while stationary details appear sharp and bright. The camera's optical image stabilization won't help much here; be sure to use a tripod or lean on a flat surface. 0.8 sec at f/5 @ ISO 80.
