FDRTools Advanced Basic Step-By-Step Tutorial

Step 2

FDRTools Advanced features three Tonemappers: Simplex, Receptor, and Compressor. Simplex is most useful for the preview, but isn't very powerful for working up an image, so skip right over it to Receptor. Receptor is a Global Operator algorithm, and the adjustment options are Compression, which adjusts the dynamic range compression, Brightness, which affects brightness, White and Black Point sliders on the histogram, to control white and black clipping, Gamma, which controls the brightness curve and Saturation, which will boost or reduce color density. If you are satisfied with your results and want to save the HDR file and Tonemapped output file, you'll have to skip ahead a few steps to the saving your files slide (slide 4). Otherwise, click the tab for Compressor to try the other Tonemapper.
