FDRTools Advanced Basic Step-By-Step Tutorial

Step 9

We're going to apply some sharpening to the image now, but only to the Lightness channel, to increase edge sharpness without amplifying the chromatic noise too much. Go to Image>Mode>LAB color to convert to LAB color. Select the Lightness channel from the Channel palette. (Tap the Tilde/Grave Accent key (above TAB) to show the image in color, but only affect the Lightness Channel.) We eyeballed these numbers with the image at 100% and like the effect of the sharpening, so we're all done with our image. Almost. We're going to save this 16-bit image with a new name and keep the file open.
